Krept & Konan produce their music focusing on the british hip hip and rap genres. They are a young duet who has focused on the popular street music, and prefer to be a recognised underground act instead of a top 40 artist.

Krept & Konan are a duet group working under the label Def Jam who are a subisidary of Universal Music Group, who now have used cross media convergence with Virgin Media to increase their popularity and expansion of the world.

Krept & Konan originally produce songs such as 'Better Not Waste My Time' which can be seen below left. These are the underground songs they tend to produce as it can relate to their lifestyle as they were growing up, showing a personal relationship with the song.

However, Krept & Konan have now became a more commerical artist to appeal to a wider range of audience members by reducing the use of explicit language and synergising with established artists such as Jeremih. This can be seen by their latest release 'Freak of the Week' featuring Jeremih, which can be seen below right .

The mise en scene used within their early single is dark, gloomy and edited in black and white, to show the rough lifestyle they have grown up within. However, they have shown what they achieved by showing the motorbikes, demonstrating their progression from the rough areas of South London.

The mise en scene used within their latest release has significantly changd as the lighting is bright showing how their lifestyle has progressed and now they are a successful duet and have expanded from the underground music across London, they now release their singles across the UK and the US.

In our video we aim to use aspects from both videos to produce our music video, the main aspect is the black and white editing technique of their original videos. An aspect we aim to use from the latest release video is the visual effects from the video
